World Environment Day

World Environment Day takes place every year on June 5. It is the United Nations’ flagship day for promoting worldwide awareness and action for the environment. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest global platforms for public outreach and is celebrated by millions of people in more than 100 countries.

This handbook has been created by the Environmental Sustainability Rotarian Action Group (ESRAG) with input from UN Environment. Its purpose is to educate and inspire Rotarians, Rotaracters and Interacters around the world to take action for the environment, and to bring attention to the important role the environment plays in Rotary’s six areas of focus.

Read more about how your Rotary club can celebrate World Environment Day at the ESRAG website.
